Dr. Sophia Xu, MD
Dr. Sophia Xu is a Canadian-trained and certified allergy and asthma specialist, and a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. She brings over a decade of experience caring for both adult and pediatric patients with a wide range of allergic conditions.
Dr. Xu earned her medical degree from the Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine, followed by a pediatrics residency at McMaster Children’s Hospital. She completed her subspecialty training in Allergy and Clinical Immunology at Hamilton Health Sciences.
She now leads a busy allergy clinic in Oakville, and is actively involved in medical education, teaching through local hospitals and family health teams.
Her clinical interests include food allergy, allergic skin disease, and asthma.
Dr. Falana Sheriff, MD
Dr. Falana Sheriff is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada. She is a certified specialist in both General Pediatrics and Clinical Immunology & Allergy for adult and pediatric patients. Dr. Sheriff earned her Doctor of Medicine degree at the Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine. She then completed her Pediatrics residency at the University of Ottawa, and a Clinical Immunology & Allergy fellowship at McMaster University.
She has conducted research in the areas of food allergy and asthma. Dr. Sheriff contributes to medical education as an Assistant Clinical Professor (adjunct) at McMaster University. She has a special interest in managing pediatric food allergy and pediatric asthma.
Dr. Sheriff currently practices at The Family Allergy Clinic in Oakville, as well in St. Catharines Aviva Allergy Clinic.
